What happens if you miss a test?
- If the DCO cannot locate you (after one hour at the time and location as specified on your athlete whereabouts information), the DCO is required to submit a report to UK Sport regarding the efforts made to locate you
- On receipt of this report, UK Sport will conduct a full audit trail of the details you provided, the Athlete Whereabouts phone line and e-mail log to identify whether any last minute changes were submitted
- Upon notification of a ‘missed test’, you will be invited to provide a written explanation as to why you were not available
- If UK Sport, together with your NGB, find there is a reasonable basis for deeming this as a failure to comply with Out-of-Competition Testing, you will be notified by your NGB of a 'Missed Test Strike’
- If you receive 3 Missed Test Strikes in an 18-month period* you risk a 3 month to 2 year sanction from your sport.
* or as specified in your sport’s anti-doping regulations.
